Montpelier is a city in Stutsman County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 87 at the 2010 census.[1] Montpelier was founded in 1885.

There were 45 housing units at an average density of 168.6 per square mile (64.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.03% White and 0.97% African American.

There were 44 households out of which 29.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.5% were married couples living together, 13.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.5% were non-families. 22.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.77.

In the town the population was spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 31.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
